Where is your package coming from?

The Cyberoptix TieLab is located on the second floor of a historic former furniture warehouse in downtown Detroit, just a couple of minutes from the legendary Eastern Market. We print everything right here Monday through Friday and we ship out from here Tuesday through Saturday.

What carrier do we use? How long does it take?

We ship Priority Mail via USPS within the United States, which takes from 2-3 business days to arrive once shipped. Outside of the US, we normally ship First Class International, which can take anywhere from 7-21 business days to arrive once we ship. We gladly upgrade to Priority Main International or Express International and Domestic on request, for an additional fee. Just let us know when you order if that's what you'd prefer! Note that none of those time estimates includes any extra time if the package is held in customs in your country. Unfortunately, they give us no way to enquire if this is the case. Please check with your local post office - they can help you find any slow packages!

Can we mark your package as a gift so you don't have to pay customs?

Sorry, we never mark merchandise as a gift. The fines after getting busted purposely marking things wrong are pretty terrible and we can't afford it! Any tariffs, taxes, or customs fees will not be the responsibility of the TieLab. When you import items from outside your home country, from time to time customs offices decide there is money due, especially on larger orders. We do mark at replacement value rather than full retail, to help ease the pain a little.

How do we wrap packages?

For regular packages, we wrap them up in recycled brown kraft tissue paper and butcher's string and then they go into the outer packaging. For gift boxes, we ship in a box lined with thicker recycled kraft paper and some bubble wrap to make sure the corners don't get dinged. If we can ship in a padded envelope, we do!

Further ordering info:

  • Every tie is made to order, printed by hand. Custom orders may take up to 10 business days to ship upon receiving payment, but they're usually out much faster. If you'd like your order rushed, get in touch! There's a $10 rush fee per order.
  • We always confirm each order via email, from a real person, not an email respondo'bot. If for some reason you haven't heard from us for a few days after placing the order, give us a poke. Chances are, something may have gone wrong. We like communication.
  • Please make sure your shipping address in PayPal is current! Lost ties are very, very sad.
  • We are not responsible for lost, delayed, stolen or damaged items after they are shipped, though we will make every effort to try and resolve the situation. We like happy customers!
