Latin for "scorpion," Scorpio is the 8th sign of the zodiac. This tie features two constellations as they're such close neighbors in the sky. In ancient Greek times, the entire constellation of Libra was considered to be claws of Scorpius (Chelae Scorpionis). The division into Libra was formalized during Roman times. Original illustration adapted from an 1822 star chart.
